WHO WE ARE
The WhiteHart has long symbolised pursuit - not for the kill, but for the joy of the chase. A search for growth, meaning and progress through challenge.
That idea sits at the heart of what we do.
Whitehart CrossFit is a team of passionate coaches who genuinely care about people. We believe fitness is a tool - not the end goal. Our job is to help you become a stronger, healthier, more confident version of yourself, whatever that looks like for you.
We put people first and fitness follows.
That means meeting you where you’re at, coaching you properly, and supporting you through both the highs and the hard days. No judgement. No ego. Just consistent work, done together.
Whether your goal is to get fitter, feel better, build confidence or simply find a place you enjoy showing up to, we’re here to guide you on that journey - one session at a time.
THE GYM

THE TEAM

BARNABY GEHLCKEN
Barnaby is the owner of Whitehart, he’s created not just a fitness facility but a community that supports each other and thrives together both inside and outside the gym.
He's been in the business of CrossFit for many, many years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge to impart when coaching. He’s a proud dog dad, a lover of gold hot pants, steak, Mongolian throat singing, extra long spicy workouts, and is also a passionate parking attendant.
As great as he is, he’s also a pain in the ass because he hates bios and won’t help with writing this - so we wrote it for him.

HANNAH SIMMONS
Hannah has been part of Whitehart since day one - starting out as a member, quickly stepping into a coaching role, and now managing the gym. She's passionate about the Whitehart community, and organises our social outings and group events throughout the year.
She holds a CrossFit L2, BWL L1, PT L3, and a BSc in Sports Therapy. When she’s not coaching, she’s busy providing treatment, rehab, and sports massage to help both members and non-members stay injury-free and moving well. You’ll find her in the gym most days - usually with a coffee in hand.

ANDY 'SWANNY' SWAN
Swanny is a dedicated CrossFit coach with a passion for building stronger, healthier and more resilient people at all levels.
With a background in functional fitness and years of hands on coaching experience, Swanny focuses on helping people move better, gain confidence and push beyond their limits without sacrificing long term health or technique.
When Swanny isn't coaching you’ll find him working on his lifts or experimenting with mobility drills. His coaching style is direct and encouraging, and rooted in the belief that progress comes from consistent effort and smart training.

JOE FOWLER
Joe always thought he was fit when he first started CrossFit. He had lifted weights for years, and played rugby.
But it didn’t take long for him to realise he wasn’t as functionally fit as he’d believed.
CrossFit gave Joe a well-rounded level of fitness and a genuine love for the training programme. So much so that when he had his son last year, he decided to quit his job, complete his CrossFit Level 1, and start coaching the same amazing community he used to train with - many of whom he now considers close friends.
His nickname is “Joe Versus the Volcano,” though he’s not entirely sure why. He hopes it’s a nod to his enthusiasm and encouragement, but suspects it may have something to do with the film.

VICKI RISHBETH
Vicki is a qualified British weightlifting coach and CrossFit Level 1 who believes the fundamentals matter: master good movement, fuel yourself with great nutrition, and turn up consistently for yourself. These are the foundations for being a happy, healthy human.
Vicki is passionate about building physical and mental strength that transfers outside of the gym.

MIA SHELDON
Mia is originally from Vancouver, Canada, with a deep lifelong passion for fitness and movement. Her diverse background includes running martial arts schools, ski racing, and building a successful horse training business.
After discovering CrossFit in 2007, she was inspired by the sport’s intensity and community and earned her CrossFit Level 1 certification in San Diego shortly after.
In 2022, Mia relocated to the UK with her animals in tow. She takes a holistic approach to health & wellness believing fitness should enhance every aspect of life - even if complaining through a tough workout is part of the process.
Outside the gym, her life revolves around her horses and three rescue dogs.

AIMEE MCCULLOUGH
CrossFit was recommended to Aimee many years ago now and since then she’s been hooked. She particularly likes the variety and how frequently relatively tame looking workouts kick her butt. She has a love of gymnastics, specifically anything upside down!
She enjoys seeing people grow through their fitness journey and exceed their expectations. She focuses on building strong gymnastic foundations.
Outside of the gym she can be found swimming silly long distances or adventuring with her dog. She is also one of our resident bakers!

ENKI
Enki is our CEO, he's at the gym with his dad Barnaby most days. While only a few months old he's settled into gym life well and knows all of our members.
He's often the face of our in house announcements and works hard behind the scenes, so he may be having a well deserved snooze when you come in.

ROKA
Roka - also known as the Ginger Ninja or the Tiny King - often accompanies Coach Vicki to classes. He’s been part of the Whitehart family since he was a puppy and greets everyone with boundless enthusiasm.
Roka has a particular fondness for sweaty trainers, T-shirts and grips, so anything left unattended while he’s around might just end up in his mouth!
